What is Whisper Hill?

Whisper Hill is a 501(c)(3) charity that connects wounded warriors, special needs, disabled, and elderly people with an eclectic barnyard of agricultural service animals. On any given day our gentle ponies are helping an autistic child experience a horse-back ride; a group of special needs adults are loving up our non-judgmental and friendly goats, sheep, and miniature donkeys; or our magnificent Clydesdales are taking a delighted group of seniors from a nursing home on a covered wagon ride. We provide all these services for free to organizations throughout the state of Wisconsin.

Of course, it’s expensive to feed, care for, and train a barnyard full of service animals! How do we pay for offering our services? We do a lot of fundraising, we apply for grants, and we sell our services to members of the community for weddings, birthday parties, open houses, and festivals. Every penny we bring in goes back into the care, feeding, veterinary bills, and transportation for our beautiful four-legged friends, so we can continue to connect these warm and loving creatures with happy humans.

How Can You Help?

There are so many ways you can participate in providing service animal experiences to those in need in our communities! Here are a few ideas:

  1. Spread the word. Tell your friends and neighbors about Whisper Hill and the good work we do!
  2. Hire us. If you have a family, school, work, or community event coming up, why not hire us to provide pony rides, a petting zoo, or carriage rides? Every time you hire Whisper Hill, you help fund our charitable activities, you get a tax write-off — and everyone at your event has a wonderful time! Definitely a win/win.
  3. Volunteer! If you have livestock experience, we may be able to use your help. Do you have a veterinary background? Your help would be more than welcome! Can you come along and help with events, host a fundraiser, write a grant application, or offer another skill? We love our volunteers.
